Avoid blotting, touching or wetting the stain, as you may spread it further. This will lift the pollen off of your shirt, or whatever is stained.<\/li><li>Be careful not to touch or press onto the fabric too hard as this may cause it to stain more.<\/li><li>Repeat the process until everything is clear.<\/li><li>You should have removed most pollen at this point. Cold water repels pollen as pollen is mainly composed of fats. This makes the combination a suitable solution for pre-treating the stain before going ahead with washing the garment or carpet as you would normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>\u00bd a bucket of cold water<\/li><li>\u00bd a cup of laundry detergent&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Procedure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Pre-treat the affected area with cold water by rinsing thoroughly.<\/li><li>Mix the detergent with water and soak the fabric.<\/li><li>Allow the garment to soak in the solution for up to 30 minutes.<\/li><li>Then wash as you usually do and rinse.<\/li><li>Hang it out to air dry.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Isopropyl_alcohol\"><\/span>Isopropyl alcohol<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Isopropyl alcohol is a solvent that dries quickly and is suitable for breaking down oily stains. Pollen, as mentioned earlier, is composed of fats. So, you can use isopropyl alcohol to get rid of pollen stains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just make sure you are pay attention to what type of fabric you are dealing with, as different fabrics react differently to different cleaning agents. You can start by carefully trying to vacuum up any excess pollen if it\u2019s on a large carpet or rug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, consider using a sponge to dampen the stain with laundry detergent or isopropyl alcohol.
